Another strong local player will contribute to developing the buildings at Port Esbjerg. Villemoes Holding ApS is set to acquire ten per cent of Port Esbjerg’s property development company, taking part in the further development of the port facilities in line with Port Esbjerg’s strategy.

Villemoes Holding ApS, a family-owned property development company based and deeply rooted in Esbjerg, will acquire ten per cent of Port Esbjerg’s property development company. Dennis Jul Petersen, CEO of Port Esbjerg, is pleased to see the group of deep-skilled partners expand:

“It’s important to us, and fully in line with our strategy, that the investment in and development of the port areas take place in cooperation with highly experienced external partners from Esbjerg. We are therefore delighted that Villemoes is joining the group of owners, bringing strong competencies and in-depth knowledge of the business community and opportunities in and around Esbjerg. We look forward to developing the port’s facilities further with them onboard.”

Port Esbjerg’s property development company was established in 2024 with a clear goal of attracting local forces with a strong commitment to the future development of the port. The first new partner was welcomed in January 2025 when E. Bank Lauridsen Holding A/S acquired ten per cent of the company.

Strong local roots

With a property portfolio that cuts across primarily commercial and industrial properties, Villemoes Holding has strong roots in Esbjerg. The company has collaborated with the offshore industry in Esbjerg for more than thirty years, which has given them a thorough understanding of the companies’ needs.

The family behind the company has left its mark on Esbjerg’s business development over the past three decades – and the investment in Port Esbjerg’s property development company is a natural next step in their ambition to support growth and lay the foundation for the business landscape of the future. Combining local knowledge and experience from major property development projects, they bring both capital and expertise to the development of the port.

Villemoes is pleased with the agreement, which fits in with the company’s investment strategy and contributes to the development of Port Esbjerg.

“We're very pleased with the agreement. There's no doubt that Port Esbjerg plays a key role for the business community in Esbjerg and the future growth of the city. By making this investment, we help lay the foundation for the businesses in and around Esbjerg and share our experience in the development and operation of properties. We look forward to providing our input to the collaboration with Port Esbjerg and E. Bank Lauridsen Holding,” says Frederik Villemoes, co-owner of Villemoes Holding ApS.

Focus on the commercial port of the future

With Villemoes on board, Port Esbjerg takes another step towards realising its strategy of inviting external partners to invest in the property development company, joining forces to take the development of the port to the next level . The development efforts are expected to continue as demand for warehouses and other facilities gradually establishes a solid foundation for new projects:

“This is the next step in the development of an even stronger property development company, in which several partners will contribute both capital and expertise going forward. Our ambition is that, together, we will provide the framework to ensure that Port Esbjerg will continue to be among Europe’s most attractive and competitive ports,” says Jul Pedersen.
