A Joint Effort to Reduce Impact

Extreme weather events such as intense downpours and heavy rain are becoming more frequent, and at times this can lead to water pooling on areas you use. Although we continuously maintain, upgrade, and expand our drainage systems, there will be situations where the volume of water simply exceeds what the systems can handle at that moment.

We do everything possible to resolve issues quickly and efficiently. Our operations team is ready to respond, pump away excess water, add gravel, or divert water to drains. If these measures are not sufficient, we involve our technical department to assess solutions and improvements. This ensures both temporary fixes and long-term enhancements.

At the same time, we learn from every incident. Each observation, customer report, and intervention is logged so we can improve and strengthen our processes.

As a customer, you can help by notifying us promptly if you experience problems. This enables us to react faster and coordinate efforts as effectively as possible.

We understand that water on operational areas can cause inconvenience – affecting workflows, safety, and logistics. That is why we prioritise this task highly, while recognising that nature’s forces can sometimes exceed technical systems.

As a tenant or user of an area, you can help reduce the impact by:

• Regularly inspecting your area and ensuring proper maintenance and levelling
• Making sure surfaces do not block natural drainage routes
• Implementing temporary measures – e.g., pallet walkways or relocating cargo – while water remains
• Contacting Port Esbjerg’s Technical Department if problems arise that you cannot resolve yourself
