Project overview
DIOL is an Interreg North Sea Region project responding to the Esbjerg Declaration on the North Sea as Europe’s green powerhouse. The aim is to build the logistics infrastructure required for future offshore renewable energy systems across five countries.
To meet the EU’s offshore wind and hydrogen production targets, ports require robust and forward‑looking logistics chains.
Key focus areas
- Strengthening logistics infrastructure required for future offshore renewable energy systems.
- Enhancing innovation capacity through transnational cooperation.
- Ensuring ports can connect, service and maintain offshore installations at scale.
Port Esbjerg participates alongside 12 project partners with a budget of EUR 750,000, contributing to a collective effort to support large‑scale offshore energy deployment.
The initiative involves partners from ports and organisations across five countries collaborating on offshore logistics development.
