Project overview
H2B:IMPACT is a largescale European flagship project establishing a H2 Valley in Bremen, demonstrating how renewable hydrogen can be produced, distributed and applied across sectors including mobility, construction, logistics and industry.
The project builds on an existing ecosystem, deploying new electrolyser capacity and integrated value chains across production, distribution and enduse to support the transition to a hydrogenbased energy system.
Port Esbjerg participates as a replication port, preparing for future implementation by building strategic, technical and operational understanding of the project’s solutions.
Key focus areas
• Integrated hydrogen value chains from production to offtake
• Cross-sector hydrogen applications in key industries
• Interoperability and cost-efficient H2 systems
• Replication across ports through knowledge sharing and testing
• Training and stakeholder engagement
The project deploys new electrolyser capacity producing over 3600 tonnes of renewable H2 and supports multiple testbeds.
The initiative involves 27 project partners led by Port of Bremen and includes a broad consortium of industrial actors, research institutions and public organisations across Europe and beyond. Port Esbjerg contributes as one of several replication sites, supporting the transfer of project results into future portbased H2 ecosystems.
