EU support: Interreg Baltic Sea Region 2021–2027

Project overview

H2Deri@BSP is an EU‑funded Interreg project preparing Baltic Sea ports for handling and using hydrogen‑based fuels such as methanol and ammonia. The project runs from March 2025 to February 2028 and involves 15 partners from seven countries.

Key activities

  • Market forecasts and analyses of demand for new fuels.
  • Development of investment models and scenarios for port‑based green energy infrastructure.
  • Development and testing of bunkering technologies and handling procedures.
  • Mapping port facilities and developing safety and regulatory foundations.

The project supports the gradual transition to low‑ and zero‑carbon maritime fuels and strengthens cooperation across ports, energy companies and maritime operators in the Baltic Sea region.

The initiative involves partners from 15 organisations across seven countries in the Baltic Sea region.
