CO₂ is captured directly from biogas combustion and converted into e‑fuels.

SCCUS

SCCUS

Small-scale CO₂ capturing systems for decentralised CO₂ point sources.

Status: Ongoing – expected completion October 2026
EU support: EUDP (Danish energy development fund)

Project overview

The project develops and demonstrates a small‑scale CO₂ capture solution aimed at decentralized biogenic emitters such as biogas plants. A fully integrated and automated system captures CO₂ directly from biogas combustion at the GreenFarm biogas plant at Gråsten Agricultural School.

The purpose is to reduce CO₂ emissions, strengthen the circular economy and enable the conversion of biogenic CO₂ into e‑fuels.

Key activities

  • Development of small‑scale CO₂ capture technology.
  • Demonstration and testing of automated capture systems.
  • Integration of infrastructure and application perspectives.

The project brings together technology development, demonstration and infrastructure application to support innovation and scalability within carbon capture solutions.

The initiative involves partners from technology developers, research institutions and infrastructure providers working across the carbon capture value chain.
